The Difference Between Ego And Pride

 Good evening everyone. I hope your day is going well? My day went well too. 

      There was a time I do mix up Ego and Pride. Now, I know the difference so I decided to share it with y'all. Someone once told me that men do have ego. I now understand that men do have the feeling of being superior to their partners in a relationship.

Ego is a feeling of being superior to others. It can lead to arrogance unconsciously. Pride is a feeling of satisfaction arising from what a person has achieved.

      Having an ego is not really good because it's not everyone you are superior to. There is someone who is more beautiful, healthier or talented than you. So we shouldn't have ego because it might destroy us. When you have an ego, that means you are comparing yourself to others. Ego is about being selfish. Know that ego can stop someone from saying sorry to another person. Someone who has ego can never adjust with others because he/she thinks about their superiority all the time.

       Now, I want us to know that pride is not a bad thing because it is a feeling of satisfaction. Pride is a feeling of pleasure and joy. It is a sense of accomplishment that brings humility in a person. To take pride in oneself means to be very humble. There is nothing like being superior to others; everyone is special in their own ways.

Taking pride in oneself is knowing and accepting the reality that everyone is unique and there is no competition or race. Taking pride in yourself is simple and plain. Now, let me make an example: when a person have a genuine ability in a particular field, this could be a source of pride but when the person begin to feel that he is the best in the field and no one else is worthy of working with him, it leads to ego.

        Pride may be focused on others instead of being self obsessed like ego. Ego is simply how a person views himself. For example, a person's ego may cause her to think that her children are the most well mannered but pride may be focused on the things that are special about her children. Ego is self admiration while pride is self satisfaction.
